So on Wednesday, October 17,2018, YALI West Africa RLC cohort 11 fellows in Ibadan, invited me to speak on the topic " Your hobbies can earn you comfort" , this again was an opportunity to speak with young ones on career opportunities, making a living from something they already love doing. I am an advocate of vocational education.
Again, it was an opportunity to emphasize that the vocational education is not for the dullards, its not for the poor or formal education drop out, etc. Youth and women empowerment is the reason I do this, we can't always wait for government to provide all the jobs, you can turn your passion to your pay cheque and in the process create jobs for other's and even make impact in your community. I believe SDG 1&8 is achievable through this process.
I consider it great opportunity to speak to about a hundred adolescents from 6 secondary schools at DOLAB Pivate school Akala express way, Ibadan.
And I get to see my cohort 10 friends, Dr Lanre and Victor Oyelade and some other amazing speakers who are all youths and spoke on different topics including drug abuse, integrity, career options in arts etc, that there is SDG17😉😀
Thank you Dr Olamide Oladipupo, Dr Emmanuel Busayoa and Priscilla Awoyemi for the invite together we can make Nigeria great.
