Does anyone else like to go and hit one exercise from the day prior to get some blood flow? I have been focusing a lot lately on my chest development. A big issue that I had (still have) is that I use my shoulders to help get the weight up. So developing the mind-muscle connection in my chest has been a slow process but finally starting to get it down 🙌🏼 This was a quick set to just try and burn out as much reps as I can, but instead of going till failure I was lame and stopped at 10 🤫 I felt pretty good after this set and I made sure I was hydrated by drinking my EAA MAX from @primevallabs. These past few months have been tough. Knee and foot pain...then I got so sick before this weekend. I really wanted to do a trifecta in one weekend and didn’t want to cancel. So I decided I would do it. My throat was super sore and my eyes and nose were running so bad the night prior to the Beast, I almost cancelled. I was sleeping in a cabin in West Virginia, waking up every two hours to take meds. Woke up on Saturday and decided to give it a go....I didn’t/couldn’t run hard and I just wanted to finish. I was so happy to jump over the fire that day. Went straight back to the cabin and rested up for Sunday. I didn’t have to take as much medication Saturday night, got up and felt somewhat human. We packed up and headed to the venue. I ran timid in the Super but was able to finish with some legs left for the 4ish mile sprint right after. I knew it was just a matter of time before my body shut down on me and I had to outrun the wall. As I jumped the fire one last time, my body was finished. I could feel my shoulders cramp and my legs go. However, I was done. In more ways than one but I finished something I had never done before. Three races in two days. 90 obstacles, over 27 miles of ridiculous ascents and descents. Water and mud and heavy carries. The body is truly amazing. Mine hates me as I type this but even though I’m killed, I’m content. No matter the pain, quitting hurts worse. I may never be the best but I always give my best. I wanted to share one of my favorite biceps exercise variations. This was filmed at the end of my routine so I only did 5s but they started out as 7s/21s! Using the hammer bar, you can really slam those forearms and Brachialis! This helps you achieve the bicep peak you're obviously looking for! Definitely add some kind of neutral grip biceps during your routine to cover the while muscle group! If you're not familiar with 7s/21s, you do 7 reps from 0-50%, 7 from 50-100%, then 7 from 0-100%. Finally got my feet wet in a multisport event! Had so much fun at the Cranberry Trifest. A Triathlon was never something I had on my radar. I was never a strong swimmer so it was something I never really thought I would do. But @briannanovaris suggested (well volunteered me) to do it about a week and a half ago and then the training was on! The laps in the pool had me unsure about how I would perform. Honestly it made me uncomfortable but I never let anyone know that. People like to do things they are comfortable with because it makes themselves feel good and confident. But it’s when we do things that make us uncomfortable we find out who we really are. Push outside comfort zones to find true growth. I can honestly say for our first multi sport event we destroyed it! And @briannanovaris had her best average pace ever! And that came after the swim and the bike! I’m very fortunate to have a fitfam that helps bring me to new levels. It truly matters who you surround yourself with. Tell me, what does the word CONFIDENCE mean to you? To me it means a lot. You see, I had no confidence in anything I did. I had no confidence in how I looked. I would dress a certain way and no matter what, I was so uncomfortable and I hated it. My confidence jumped from a 1 to an 8. I am so much happier in how I dress/look.
