Mentorship in all it's forms is my favorite part of running BLK Sheep Creative. Education is empowerment and I'm incredibly fortunate to be able to help others pursue their entrepreneurial passions.
@sydneylynncreative phrased an incredibly common feeling so well, "I feel very overwhelmed [ with showing up on social media ]. I don't feel like there is a clear path to what works and what doesn't."
Who has felt that way before? I'll be the first to raise my hand. 🙋🏻♀️
I've said it a thousand time before and I'll say it here again because it's that important, show up authentically. We're spammed with "10 ways to hit 10K followers in 10 days" ads but when it comes down to it, so much is changing so quickly that it's just plain overwhelming. What do we focus on? How do we show up? When? How often? Why do we even show up in all the noise?
Friends, let's strip all of that away and look at your social media for what it is for your business. Instagram, and many other platforms, are a free way to showcase your businesses work, products, and services. More than that they are a place to educate your audiences on the value of your products / services. Building trust with your audience is the number one way you'll be able to sell to them. Why? Because you don't buy a car without test driving it first. It isn't about slimy sales techniques, it's about providing value to their lives through what your business has to offer, educating them, and building trust.
So, don't focus on vanity metrics, don't focus on growing as quickly as possible, don't focus on how best to do everything at all time's - because you'll be overwhelmed! When you show up, show up to provide value, educate, and build trust - period.
