I have just recently finished Jean Paul-Sartre: Existentialism is a humanism. Although it was a tough book to fully comprehend at first, I enjoyed the concepts and ideas put forward after re-reading highlighted parts and my notes. Do you ever feel guilt or shame after eating foods you enjoy? This is often linked to dichotomous labels we attach to foods such as good/bad, healthy/unhealthy, or clean/dirty. Yet in reality food is just food. It doesn’t come with a moral scale, and the labels we attach to it are entirely subjective and often encouraged by diet culture. What’s the problem with labeling foods this way? The guilt and shame tend to result in some form of compensation, be it dieting, purging, restricting, or over-exercising. At minimum, the guilt and shame that come from feeling like we did something wrong take up time and space that could otherwise be used to feel our best. So next time you catch these feelings linked to food (or hear someone else talking about how ‘good’ or ‘bad’ they’ve been because of what they’ve been eating) why not try adopting a more balanced lens together by noticing and letting go of food-related judgment? Форм и способов манипуляций существует очень много. Привязка к чувствам самая обобщенная, простая. Но, на самом деле, все намного более разнообразно. Способов использования, форм предоставления информации и т.д. настолько много, что об этом можно говорить очень долго: манипуляции сознанием, личностью, состоянием и .т.д. И раз я уже затронула тему отношений, акцент я все-таки сделаю именно на этом. Возможно, если вам будет прям очень интересно я напишу подробнее механизмы, способы по разным формам, типам, проявлениям манипуляций, в таком случае будет большая постов. Пишите, если интересно . А сейчас еще некоторые приемы . Наглость. Манипулятор очень настойчиво, даже может жестко и агрессивно навязывать вам свою ерунду. Например, торговый представитель приходит к вам и предлагает купить пылесос. Вы отказываетесь. Начинается шоу какой этот пылесос классный, с ним ничто не сравниться, он вам вообще завтрак в постель носить будет, детей со школы забирать и деньги в семью зарабатывать. Вы и слова не сможете вставить, по сути, вам будут промывать мозг. Здесь кто-то может согласиться только чтоб от него отстали. Но если вы откажитесь, начнется другое представление . Манипуляция временем. Теперь этот чудо пылесос нужно купить только сейчас, завтра его уже не будет, на него вообще стоит очередь, и он последний. Вас будут напористо торопить и жестко уговаривать прямо сейчас принять решение и именно решение купить. В такой спешке снижается критичность мышления, вы теряете бдительность, вам навязывают действия и вы соглашаетесь на то что вам говорят, не обдумывая. Но если это такой классный пылесос, почему его нет в каждом магазине? Если на него такая очередь, почему тогда тратят время на вас, а ней пойдут к кому-то из этой очереди? . Одна из любимых манипуляций в паре по типу «я обиделась». Жена показательно обижается, заставляя мужа чувствовать вину и в итоге сделать то, что она хочет чтобы больше не обижалась . А некоторые друзья могут наоборот, задаривать вас всякой мелочью, комплиментами, постоянно помогают (где помощь особо и не требуется),чтобы в какой-то момент сказать: я для тебя вот, а теперь и ты мне помоги, твоя очередь, это же типа честно

You don't always have to feel like you're 100% motivated and ready to tackle the study material. It's okay to feel less motivated once in a while. ЗАЧЕМ ПСИХОЛОГ ЗАДАЁТ ВОПРОСЫ? «Пошел к психологу за ответами, а он сам вопросы задает…» Это, пожалуй, одно из самых частых разочарований клиентов, не имевших опыта работы с психологом. Многие от консультации ожидают ряд советов и рекомендаций, как «надо» жить, как поступать «правильно», как сделать так, чтобы муж\жена\ребенок\друзья\коллеги\соседи изменились. Увы, даже самый маститый специалист не знает, как вам лучше поступить в той или иной ситуации. Эти знания доступны только вам самим, и содержатся они внутри вас. Цель терапевтических вопросов – не собрать «анамнез», поставить «диагноз» и дать «рецепт», как дальше жить, а помочь вам наладить контакт со своим собственным «Я». Отвечая на вопросы психолога, вы рассказываете сами себе о ваших желаниях, потребностях и мотивации. Поэтому в кабинете психолога вам не нужно подбирать «правильные» или социально приемлемые ответы. Самое главное – быть честным и открытым с самим собой. Ведь зачастую та проблема, с которой клиент идёт на консультацию, - лишь верхушка айсберга. И задача специалиста – помочь вам отыскать то, что скрыто в глубинах вашей души. В следующем посте будет хорошая техника вопросов самому себе, которую вы сможете выполнять самостоятельно. Feeling anxious? I know I definitely can become overwhelmed with anxiety at times and I think it’s important to internally tune in when this happens. Although anxiety often helps us attend to something that is requiring attention, it can very easily become irrational, displaced and unwarranted. This can lead one to feeling overwhelmed, stressed and left in a heightened state, making it hard to slow down and challenge some of these thoughts. There are many factors that influence how and what we think, but remember thoughts are NOT facts. We DO have agency and choice in how we attend to our thoughts and what we do with them. I invite you to be more curious about what is coming up for you in these times. One thing I will always remember from one of my grad school classes at Pepperdine was the concept of “Catch it, Check it, Change it.” 1. Catch it: bring awareness to the thoughts. What are they? 2. Check it: how likely is it that this thought is true? If the thought were true, how likely is it to happen? What is the worse thing to happen? And if that does occur, what is the likelihood you will still be okay? 3. Change it: reframe the thought! How could this thought also be looked at? How would a friend look at it? What would you tell a friend? Don’t stress if this is hard to do in the moment. It definitely will be because it’s different than what you’re used to. But that’s okay! Change is different, but different is not bad. Give yourself grace and compassion and try to be curious about these situations that give you anxiety when you are NOT in a heightened state. That way, you are thinking more clearly and can be more mindful. You can then take this newfound knowledge into the next situation that elicits the anxiety response.
