I want to talk about something really serious real quick. I want to talk about anxiety and bad thoughts. Now I myself and OCD and have bad thoughts from just a lot of stuff but what I've learned is to get rid of that habit or bad thing and cut it off. Sometimes I think bad of myself but I pray on it and give it over to God and that's when I feel lifted. Because he knows my true thoughts and I know my true thoughts and I will not let the enemy or the fleshly side of me make a nightmare that I do not want. Now you may be experiencing something similar or maybe the same but I just want to tell you that you're not alone in that you are a treasure from God himself. And that you can always rewire your mind and get back up and rise up and be positive. It's not going to be an overnight process but you will get to the top eventually especially with our heavenly father Jesus Christ our Lord and savior his son. Stay lifted my friends. Oh ya know just checking to see when my belly button is going to become an outie 🤣 . Ok but really, I’ve struggled a bit lately not going to lie. I have some weeks I workout 4 times then other weeks where my workouts are walking the dog... I have not been consistent and I’ve felt ashamed of that but slowly realizing I shouldn’t. I preach a healthy lifestyle and I know I have many people following my journey so I never want to feel like I disappoint people but at the same time, this is my journey and pregnancy and it’s not all smooth sailing. About 4 weeks ago I left the gym mid workout because I felt faint then was nervous to go back.. now my lower back and heels of my feet have been in pain so I’ve avoided my workouts a bit and it is what it is. Each day is different and mentally some days I’m more motivated than others but my new rule is to not be hard on myself. There’s no rules I need to follow and every pregnancy is different. I’ll be honest I never really did this. I’ve been on the asking part so long... I knew when I let go it would come but been to “I want to do it, figure it, be clever, crack the code, manifest it all by myself.” 💕 💕 I kept a massive block in the way, the past. The block was helpful. I’ve had so much fun keeping the supply pinched off. Faux Woe™️ was my best ever dance. Believe it or not it’s what we come to 🌍 Earth for. Where we come from there is just Love at source. We like a bit of contrast us humans. It manifests as acne, digestive issues, muscle tension, and poor sleep. Can you related?⁠ ⁠ Give yourself permission to take care of YOU.⁠ ⁠ 💛Set boundaries - Don't take on responsibilities that are not healthy for you. Feel comfortable with respectfully saying no.⁠ 💛Disengage - Take time to just be with yourself and be with your thoughts. Step away from social media, your phone, or electronics in general.⁠ 💛Connect with nature - We take for granted the healing power of nature. Look outside, visit a park, go for a walk and reconnect.⁠ 💛Support - Connect with a support system. Maybe it's your mom, your friend, your church group, or even a counselor. Find a person you can lean on.⁠ 💛Use your tools - We've got 'em for a reason, so don't be afraid to use them. Maybe yoga is your jam. Maybe it's meditation or guided imagery. Prayer perhaps? Good morning friends 🌼🌈 . I just wanted to touch up on a topic I feel is important especially around the holiday season. They're are many people that will be spending their holiday time alone. Maybe their family doesn't really keep contact, or they live away from family and friends and sadly, some may have lost family and friends who have passed away 😞😞 . Please check up on your loved ones, if they don't have plans to spend time with anyone, maybe invite them to your Christmas lunch? Even something as simple as a phone call to show that you care for someone can do the trick. I know how it feels to be lonely around the holidays, the only family I have here is my mum and, and she's sick, so it can make holidays a sad time. 😞😞 . All it takes is a minute to send a text message, and a few minutes to make a call, you could really help someone feel loved and appreciated when they need it most ❤🥰

Did you ever quit something you love(d)? Why? For #DoBetterDecember I want you to find something you gave up or slowly lost and revisit how to do it again. It can be ANYTHING! • My senior year of high school, I had a goal to work at either ESPN or the NCAA Headquarters before the age of 30. In Fall 2013, I accepted my first offer at the NCAA at the age of 25! 3 months later, I started dating my husband and in the process inherited two kids (babies!). I spent the next 4 years juggling work, school, toddlers, and added coaching to the mix. The definition of “Doing The Most!” • In 2017, I quit my dream career for a job that better allowed me to be coach, employed, and a a more present mom to the boys. It was not an easy decision, but they needed me more than I needed to be the next Cari Champion. • Fast forward to 2019: I’m still a mom, still a coach, still employed-with a new last name. I’m slowly counting down the months to what may be the final days at my job. I’ve relaunched and rebranded my site. I’m going back to school, with a long-term goal of part-time employment and full-time entrepreneurship that allows me to be a more present mom (as opposed to the tired one the boys get now 😂). I have a lot on my plate right now, but my goal is to eat!

It’s nice to feel needed and appreciated by people but sometimes things can get out of hand. You cannot be a crutch for someone when you are barely holding yourself up. Your state of mind is important too. I have a terrible habit of overextending myself by trying to do everything and please everyone. It takes a huge toll on me and I have to remember that I can say no, that that person doesn’t have to love me for me to love myself. Toxic Perfectionism. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I also think it's very relevant with instagram, since there's so much out there to compare yourself to. This piece (poem? Writing thingy?) above is kind of a weird take on it. I don't it's necessarily true that people want they things they do to be perfect so that they can have some weird upper hand over other people or anything. There's a lot of reason to care about the work that you put out, and to want it to be as perfect as possible (not always for competitive reasons). But I do think it's common to begin comparing yourself and your work to everything else out there, and when you do it's so easy to fall into this weird, competitive, trap of thinking 'i want to be better' than something or someone else, even if you love and appreciate the work of that other person, and you know deep down that your goals are entirely different. Anyway, so that's my weird thought of the day 🤷😛. Been really trying to push myself to just creative, work, and release things without being so perfecting over it and never releasing anything.

Today I did a spin class on my Peloton App. I’ve been in a funk about the gym and usually getting in a 30 min HIIT with @robinnyc helps get me back in the groove. ⁣ ⁣ Well she said something today that totally got me. She talked about the concept of self soothing and how working out and reaching that point of breathlessness and discomfort is the prime time to practice self soothing.⁣ ⁣ Y’all. It’s like it all hit me. ⁣ ⁣ Today in a world where we are all consumed with being overwhelmed (wholllleeee other post on that), it is VITAL that we know how to self soothe. Because the alternative is turning to temporary things. Food. Drugs. Alcohol. Unhealthy behaviors. All which are temporary fixes that lead to even more unhealthy behaviors. ⁣ ⁣ Honestly (hard truth) I think as a society we have become mentally weak and lack the ability to self soothe. When things get hard, we throw a tantrum, blame others, or find the easy way out. As a society, we have turned away from physical activity. We have turned away from moving our bodies. We have made fitness into a physique instead of a means of celebration and mental clarity. ⁣ ⁣ I’m super passionate about health and fitness. I think when you can push yourself into discomfort, you grow a little each time. You development mental strength and the ability to find calm in the chaos. Because chaos will be everywhere for eternity. You can’t run from it. You have to face it head on.⁣ ⁣ So I guess what I’m saying is, fitness is not just a way to make your physical body healthier. It is a way to create and strengthen your mind for everything else that happens outside of the gym.

Why don’t people talk about prenatal depression? Prenatal anxiety? Postpartum depression is, but not this. When I google it, all that comes up is “it’s completely normal, you have such a big change coming your way!” Isn’t that the response that people had to mental health issues years ago? The “It’s normal, don’t worry” mentality? I’ve searched high and low for other people who are going through, or who have gone through, the same thing. I haven’t found much, but I refuse to believe I’m the 1 in a million going through it. It’s hard to understand from the outside (and the inside), and it’s hard to receive help, too. So, like any other mental health “issue”, we take it day by day, sometimes hour by hour, sometimes minute by minute. Take advantage of the good days, and take it easy on yourself on the challenging ones. It’s the most depressing time of the year. Also known as tending to relapse heavy in the “festive” season. It’s not cause I’m a bitter young spinster or anything like that. Having seasonal depression being the seasoning on top of normal mental illness is difficult. But the best thing I’ve learned is to try and get out of bed and atleast do something be it brushing your teeth, drinking tea or awkwardly posing infront of your Christmas tree.
