A Sunday Lunch of Mr.Siddique's Meat Curry. 'What's a nice winter-ish Sunday at Chhayabrita without the trademark Mangsho'r Jhol for lunch ?! And this time it comes with prawns fried in the lightest of light batters so that there's a crunch at the start of your bite, after which your teeth sink into the tender, silky flesh the texture of a light cloud set well with china grass.
There is the jhuri alu-bhaja as well to go with the house special Musur Dal, and a salad of diced vegetables (but mostly cucumbers and peppers) that helps fuel the urge to overdose on the Mangsho by neutralizing the spices after each helping.
The mutton's specially ordered and selected, and it's hellishly good. But you know that from experience or, if you haven't visited yet, from the many times we've posted about Mr.Siddique's Mangsho'r Jhol on this page. At this point, there are those who'll pounce upon the opportunity to tell us that the meat is goat and not Mr.Siddique's. We agree. But really, the way he puts his heart and soul into every dish he makes for, and every care he imparts upon you, he might as well be cleaving his own flesh to keep you delighted every moment of your stay at Chhayabrita.
