While measuring your progress by numbers is a great way to make sure you’re progressing & on track but being obsessed with the numbers isn’t a good feeling 😞 Here are some ways I avoid letting the numbers take control; KNOW NUMBERS ARE ONLY ONE TOOL ☝🏼 They’re only ONE of many tools to track your progress. You can use photos 📸 but going beyond just the physical, you can focus on how you’re feeling - your energy, your health, your happiness & confidence 😁 Your sleep quality, the way your skin is looking, your immunity. These are all things that will improve as you begin to look after yourself REALISE HOW MANY THINGS AFFECT YOUR MEASUREMENTS ✨ Time of day, time of the month, how much water you’ve had, the food you’ve just eaten, your sleep - SO MANY things will influence the number on the scale & even on the measuring tape. Progress certainly isn’t linear & you will see the numbers fluctuate but that’s normal! FOCUS ON PERFORMANCE GOALS 🏋️‍♀️ Rather than focusing purely on number goals, set yourself performance goals in your training. When ever I get a new program, I set goals to reach every session 💪🏼 This keeps me accountable to myself & gives me a purpose in my training that has nothing what so ever to do with my body FALL IN LOVE WITH THE PROCESS 💘 You may have an end result you want but in actual fact there should be no “end” - you’re on a journey - and you shouldn’t be focused on an end.. like I said, the numbers will go fluctuate even if you’re heading in the right direction, but enjoying the journey you’re on, your training, the food you’re eating & focusing on personal growth along the way will take the focus off the numbers, making the entire process more enjoyable TAKE THE PRESSURE OFF YOURSELF 🧘🏽‍♀️ Focus on YOU only.
