I made a rice and chicken fried rice kind of thing. I boiled the riced first and let it cool, in the meantime I cooked the chicken and broccoli and once it was done, I added the rice with some soya sauce and sesame oil, garlic powder and white pepper. For years our friend @constance.muriel.grey has had the elusive ‘Anton’s chilli’ sprinkle, that basically made everything better. It is more precious then gold, and when we would go for dinner at hers and @opus_lab ‘s place, and the chilli came out, I felt like a kid starring at a massive bowl of ice cream and fairy floss and chocolate. Finally we had enough chillies between a batch from our @angelicaorganicfarm csa box and some kind friends sharing their home grown delights with us, and I had two seconds to set up the dehydrator to prep them, that I decided to make a sprinkle. Given we’re now in Melbourne, and the elusive ‘Anton’s chilli’ is almost gone, as is his chilli patch, it was a matter of necessity really. So, I dehydrated more types of chillis then I can remember, chucked them in the @thermomixaus and added a smidge of my Smokey tomato salt. Here's how I cook 90% of the time for the past 9 years 😂. I call it "practical" as opposed to aesthetic cooking 🙈. Step by step below. Step 1: Cook protein with some kind of "flavour builders". Here I used chicken breast with garlic, fresh sage and Philadelphia. Step 2: Cook a shitload of veggies separately. Mostly because they take up the entire space when raw. Here I have kale slaw, frozen Japanese veggie mix and cooked beets. Step 3: Add a carb. I tried brown rice quinoa mix and quite liked it. Step 4: Mix it all together. Hence the non-aesthetic part 😂 Step 5: Divide into portions and add labels with brief description and date. I put it in the freezer and I have many different ones, so no I don't eat the same thing every day 😜. This is usually my lunch at work. Step 6: Calculate nutrition per portion. All ingredients are linked to a database through a vlookup table. I aim for less than 500 calories per portion and more than 20g of protein. But that's just me, definitely not a recommendation by any means.

Did my body composition change at all? No. Stop wasting your money like I did.👎🏻 REAL Tips for FAT LOSS: 1st I want to clear up that wanting to "lose weight" and wanting to "lose fat" are very different things. Lose FAT: Maintain your muscle while cutting down your fat % Lose WEIGHT: Only care ab the number on the scale, losing fat & muscle so the next time you say "I want to lose weight" rethink.. anywayyyyys. eat in a CALORIC DEFICIT. Make sure the amount of calories you are intaking is lower than the amount you expend in a day. I can not stress this enough. No matter how much healthy foods and workouts you do, if you are eating in a surplus you will not lose fat. Focus on eating nutritious foods! Fill up on your veggies and try to limit the amount of processed foods you eat. My rule of thumb is staying away from food that have more than 5 ingredients listed.🥦🥑🍎 LIFT WEIGHTS. The more muscle you have the more calories you burn in a day. This is also how you will maintain the muscle you have thought the process.🏋🏼‍♀️ MODERATE CARDIO. You do not have to spend endless hours on the treadmill. (this is how you lose your muscle) For example I do about 15 min of LISS after my workout, or incorporate super sets into my lift to keep my heart rate up. Ex. Para empezar, precalentamos el horno a 180º. A continuación, partimos los aguacates en mitades y retiramos el hueso. LOL RANT TIME🔥 I saw a news headline the other day that said “cut the carbs, lose the weight.” I cannot tell you how much i HATE that. There is no such thing as these “quick fixes” and fad diets. Cutting carbs may help you lose a few pounds but then we all know what happens next... you eat carbs again and it goes right back! What is the point of depriving yourself only to get temporary results? The key to progress is a consistent healthy LIFESTYLE. And I didn’t realize how much I would actually miss my family, even though they drive me insane sometimes. My sister called me on FaceTime week 3 into my little expat experience and she told me she had made muffins. As she took a bit of one, I started crying because the extremity of the distance was finally sinking in.. deeply. If it was any other situation, I would just hop on a bus and go enjoy this moment with her, and my family. But I couldn’t. So she brought them to me....I love you Mels. You make some banging muffins.
