Siempre, siempre, siempre hay algo por lo cual agradecer... uno de mis hábitos favoritos y sin duda el mejor es agradecer día con día. . Siempre hay algo por lo cual estar agradecido... siiiii, aunque no lo parezca. . Estoy segura que al menos podemos enlistar 3 cosas por las cuales estar agradecidos... ¿comienzo yo? 1. Por un año más de vida de mi mamá, por una vuelta al sol llena de alegrías, amor y felicidad. 2. Porque se acerca mi cumpleaños y me gustaría festejarlo al máximo. 3. Por un nuevo amanecer... por estar de pie un día más y una nueva oportunidad. 4. Por mi jugo verde (espinacas, manzana verde, jengibre y apio). 5. Por mi cama que es deliciosa y me permite dormir espectacular. 6. Por mi familia que me acompaña en mi día a día y mis locuras. 7. Por los proyectos, por el ebook de alimentación para peques, me encanta. 8. Por @mahalosuperfoods qué me encanta verlo crecer día con día y llegar a muchas mas personas. 9. Por la vista tan espectacular con la que salí de casa (la pueden ver en las historias). 10. Por la comunicación, redes sociales, mails, chats que me permiten estar en contacto con Uds, compartir salud y mejorar hábitos. . Qué tal ¿fácil? Focus on the weight you lift, not the weight you drop. • • WILL BURN MORE FAT. Weight training builds muscle, as lean muscle increases so does metabolism. A higher metabolism means that you will burn more calories all day long. • WILL NOT GET YOU BULKY. One of the most common reasons women avoid weight training is because they are afraid of “bulking.” This is a misconception as it physically can not happen. Women simply don’t have the testosterone to build muscle like men. Women have 10 to 30 times less testosterone than men and have a much harder time gaining size from strength training. Insead women develop muscle definition and strength without the size.

I recently read “burnout, the secret to unlocking the stress cycle” by Emily & Amelia Nagoski and I highly recommend giving it a read. It was written for women by women. Stress is killing us. It is what lead to my months of illness and deterioration. 20-30% of Teachers, Professors, and Humanitarian Aid Professionals are suffering from burnout. Medical professionals are closer to 50%. Basically, people who help people... so what about those of us who are moms? Imagine those levels!?! We get stuck in emotional turmoil over stress and situations we can really do nothing about. Trust me, I’ve been there. I’m a Realtor, mom, wife, sister, friend, Coach, and I’m an Empath and HSP! I take on everyone’s stress. And 99% of it, I can not control. I’ve learned to put some distance between myself and stressors. I ask my self these 3 questions... 1️⃣ Is this mine? No, seriously, is this really mine? (If yes, move on) 2️⃣ Is there someone who can help me with this? (If yes, ask for help. If no, move on) 3️⃣ Is this something that needs to be handled right now? (If no, schedule it. If yes, handle it and get on with life) We all know that diet and exercise can help us feel better, but also, I’ve added writing and meditation to my daily activities. Sometimes a quick meditation on Insight Timer (Free app) can right my mood in as little as 1 minute. And, I offer Reiki for stress release. PM for details.

As someone who suffered from depression and anxiety for the better part of 15 years, I can 💯 say that cleaning up my gut made a HUGE difference in my mental health. . 😊 Serotonin is a neurotransmitter in the brain that’s linked to better mood and overall satisfaction. BUT the majority of our serotonin is not made in our brain, it’s made IN OUR GUT!! . . 🥑 The food we eat, directly affects the amount of serotonin we’re making (and therefore how good we’re feeling). . . 🥬 And the good news is that we can control that! . . 👍WHAT TO EAT TO SUPPORT HEALTHY GUT & BRAIN: . ✅ Healthy fats (esp. omega 3’s) ✅ Probiotic foods (& supplements) ✅ Nuts and seeds . ✅ High fibre foods (lots of veg!!) . ✅ Leafy greens . . 👎WHAT TO AVOID (as much as possible): . . ❌ Ultra processed foods (like white bread, chips, cakes, crackers, etc) . ❌ Sugar & Artificial sweeteners . ❌ Gluten (whether you’re celiac or not, gluten is harmful to your gut lining). ❌ Factory farmed meat and fish . . ✳️ If you’re feeling overwhelmed, REMEMBER ➡️ You do not need to make all of these changes over night!! Start by choosing one new food to add in. It’s about the little victories. I have not been able to wear my robe for about two years, and I can FINALLY close it. 🍃Benefits of living with Plants The Greeks and Romans are the first we know of that brought their outdoor greenery indoors. I live in the Concrete Jungle of NYC. This beauty sits on my desk at home and reminds me that I’m never too far from nature. I’m actually not even sure what it is as she was given to me as clippings from a neighbor. 🙏🏻 Some plants are more beneficial to have indoors than others, and I’ll address those in a later post. But in general: 1. Plants act the opposite of humans in that they INHALE CO2 and EXHALE O2- that’s more oxygen for us! 2. Plants add moisture to our air. A gift especially in the colder months when we using our electric heat systems. This decreases your dry skin/ dry coughs/ colds etc. 3.Plants help to eliminate trace levels of toxic elements in our air quality- especially good for me as I do not open my windows often enough. 4. Why you should stop at 90 degrees when it comes to a Shoulder Press💡 . This does not apply for ONLY a shoulder press but many exercises such as a Seated Cable Row and Flat Dumbbell Chest Press. Each exercises applies a “level arm” which is the range of motion of the movement pattern used. You cannot go past a lever arm’s contraction point (middle phase) because it will only either over stretch the muscle (dumbbell chest press coming down to the chest, bringing elbows too far back) OR loss mind-muscle connection from the muscle (Lat pulldowns coming down to the belly button). . Stopping at a The proper contraction point allows the muscle to be used on all concentric, isometric, and eccentric parts of movement.. which overloads the muscle proper towards the exercises. It may not always “look” like you’re getting full range, but you are. A seated cable row should stop ONLY at the armpit, NOT pulling it completely to your belly button because that completely losing connection to the muscle. . A friend of mine messaged me last week 👌🏼 he said the world 🌍 can be cruel to kind, sensitive people who are different 🌟 we sang and drank a lot of rum last year. 😬 I think I was lost and trying to find my way out of the darkness I felt most of my life from having a clef palate. I had surgery, people forgot but I didn’t. When I went to the hospital when I was younger I would have to have a light up my nose and I hated it immensely. I would always ask if I could see the light and even then I knew things were different. Watching and seeing your throat muscles move on TV you kind realize life can be scary as fu** but as I got older. 💦 I stuck to music, books and theater plus dancing to be expressive. @iinalumni taught me there is power in your wounds. A lot of power. A lot of magic and as we dive into an awesome weekend. Strength comes in many different ways. Including a little one known as voice. I plan on using mine much more. It is cardio facial month at @archildrens more than anything I wish I could support kids.
