Another workout done! Every time I step in the gym I work hard because I have something to prove, not to anyone else but to myself. I push myself to my limits because I know that I have what it takes to reach any and every goal I set. My journey started almost 11 months ago and I never would have thought I would be making the kind of progress that I'm making. I have done and failed the weight loss journey thing too many times to count. This time I made a promise to myself to never quit. No matter how many I days I feel unmotivated or how many times I fall off track I always pull myself back together and not let my bad days take over the process that's leading me towards reaching my goals. Yes I could have done many things differently. Today I had the benefit to work with some UNM physical therapy students on, “get this” the benefits of boxing with people diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. For anyone that doesn’t know Parkinson’s disease affects the nervous system and causes someone’s muscles to become weaker and make their arms and legs begin to move uncontrollably. For years there’s been plenty of speculation that boxing contributed to the late champion Muhammad Ali's long battle with Parkinson's disease. But like many tragedy’s that gave birth to blessings #boxingtraining is now being used as a form of therapy for people who already have Parkinson's.
