Goddamn, this movie was something. Revenge of the Sith is not only the best prequel, but it also became one of my favorite Star Wars movies after rewatching it. I really don’t get why some people don’t like this movie. I really appreciated how they took a darker approach with this movie. This is the first PG-13 Star Wars movie and a lot of insane and depressing stuff happens in this movie, and I was able to get so invested with these characters. I loved seeing Anakin as he finally turns into Darth Vader, and I love how you can really feel the pain Anakin went through, and you’re rooting for him that all turns out better, but in the end it really doesn’t. I also loved the role that Palpatine played in this movie, as he basically messes with him and his feelings, and Anakin learns that he knows the ways of the dark side, which makes this conflict intriguing. This movie also improves a lot with the issues that were present in the last two movies. The CGI looks much better in comparison, there’s a story that’s really thrilling and well executed, there’s actually some well written dialogue, and Jar Jar doesn’t say a single word and only appeared briefly in like two scenes. And my god, this movie had some great space and lightsaber battles! It’s easily the best I’ve ever seen in terms of visuals and choreography (although the lightsaber battle with Mace Windu and Palpatine didn’t really work for me). It’s always great watching a lightsaber battle with John Williams’ fantastic score. In terms of flaws, I’d say that some of the dialogue still needed some work and some scenes felt choppy. But in the end, I’m really surprised at how good this movie actually is, and I think it deserves more love.
