Rebbe Nachman MiUman says the only motive for going to the land of Israel should be spiritual: to draw closer to God. One who goes there with this intention will certainly benefit. Merely by setting foot in the land, he will become absorbed in and transformed by its holiness. For this reason even one who walks four cubits in the land of Israel is assured that he will inherit the world to come ( Ketubot 111a) . But if a person's motive has no connection with devotion to God and purification from evil, how will the land of Israel help him? It will vomit him out "as it vomited out the nation that was before you" (Leviticus 18:28 ) . Likutey Moharan I, 155 #breslov #rebbenachman #israel

Benji from NYC asked us to create a work with the famous words of the late 18th century Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, “The whole entire world is a very narrow bridge and the main thing is to have no fear at all”. In Israel, many of the ultra-orthodox drawn to mysticism follow Nachman’s teachings. Those seem to include being super friendly, dancing in public to horrible techno music and smoking insane amounts of weed. ⁣ ⁣ #chasid #hasidic #nnnnm #rabbinachman #rebbenachmanofbreslov #nachmanism #judaism #breslov #nachman #hebrew #hebrewtattoo #hebrewlettering #hebrewcalligraphy #tattoo #calligraphy #art #calligraphytattoo #tattoostories #lettering #letteringtattoo #bible #bibletattoo #jewishart #jewishlife #jewish #jew #israel #judaism #christiantattoo #jesus

#Matzah #Food of the free man. There's a lot more than just flour and water here. There's a story that surrounds this simple looking food. To those who know it - its meaning is clear. The taste is exceptional. To those who don't - this food may seem like cardboard. Sounds a bit like life. To those who can see the good - the meanings in life and of life are clear. To those who can't find the good - seeing only faults and bad - life feels and tastes much like cardboard too. #Torah #Pesach #Passover #Judaism #Jewish #Chabad #Breslov #Jew

The following story is written by Rebbe Nachman of Breslov which can be shared with friends and family during the Passover Seder. “Two homeless men, a Jew and a Gentile traveled together. The Jew told the Gentile to pretend he was a Jew (which he could do since their language is similar to Yiddish), so their hosts would have pity on him. Since Pesach was approaching, the Jew taught him how to behave during the Seder. He outlined the stages of the Seder: First Kiddush is made, then hands are washed, etc. However, he forgot to tell him about the bitter herb. They went to the synagogue the first night of Pesach, and they were invited to two different homes. The Gentile was very hungry and looked forward to the fine foods that had been described by the Jew. However, first they gave him a piece of celery dipped in salt water, and other things served at the Seder. Afterwards they began to recite the Haggadah; he sat there longing for the meal. When the matzah was served, he was very happy because that was the sign the main meal was about to begin! But to his astonishment they gave him the bitter herb—a piece of horseradish. It was so bitter, and he thought that this was the entire meal. He bolted from the table, fuming and hungry, saying to himself, “Cursed Jews! After all that ceremony, that’s all they serve to eat!” He went to the synagogue where he had arranged to meet his friend and fell asleep. After a while, the Jew arrived, happy and full from a good meal. “How was your Seder?” he asked. The other told him what had happened. “Fool!” replied the Jew. “If you had waited just a little longer, you would have had a lavish meal, as I had.” #rebbenachman #breslov #pesach

Biur Chametz - #ביעורחמץ #ביעור_חמץ #ביעורחמץ🔥 Destroying the Chametz It is forbidden to own or have in one's possession leavened bread for the duration of the #Pesach festival. We may eat only #Matzah - unleavened bread The Matzah is made of flour and water only and contains no sugar, eggs, salt etc. all the ingredients we find in puffed up bread. Matzah is unleavened bread. We may not let it rise. It must be baked in less than 18 minutes! The Matzah reminds us to remain humble, whereas bread shows off its puffy arrogance as it has risen (and seems to taste much tastier too). It is the way of the world to feel that arrogance tastes better, but Matzah teaches us otherwise. Matzah is produced quickly! A humble person does all important beneficial things in haste because a great person attends to the needs of others quickly. An arrogant person takes time, showing off more than doing - speaking much but doing little. But the world still think the way of arrogance is the preferred and honoured way of life. Pesach reminds us that redemption for everyone comes not through haughtiness with all the tastes and flavours of an imaginary fantasy world. Real redemption comes when we are humble to ourselves and humble to others. The #Jewish people left Egypt over 3300 years ago in great #haste. They did not have time to even let the dough rise! But redemption came and we celebrate Pesach and eat Matzot to remind ourselves of the beautiful values and messages contained in the story of leaving Egypt. Ultimately the goal would be to become free to serve G-d and study and fulfill the #Torah. Tonight we spend the evening - all night - relating this amazing #story which would make for the beginning of the nation of the Jewish people. #Judaism #Chabad #Breslov #Rabbi #freedom #slavery #family #holiday #festival #fire

Rebbe Nachman MiUman says people should throw aside all their sophisticated ideas and serve God with purity and simplicity. Action is the main thing, not study, and you should see to it that your practical achievements are greater than your intellectual development. It is obvious that this applies to the `wisdom' of the average person, which is nothing but foolishness. Without doubt this has to be thrown out completely. But it even applies to genuine wisdom. When it comes to serving God, even someone whose head is filled with genuine wisdom should put it all aside and serve God with purity and simplicity. At times it may even be necessary to behave in a way that seems mad in order to serve God. We may have to do things which seem crazy for the sake of carrying out His will. We may have to roll about in all kinds of mud and mire in order to serve God and fulfill His commandments. This does not apply only to things which are explicitly mitzvot. Anything which God desires to be done is called a mitzva. It may be necessary to throw oneself into the mud and m ire to carry out a certain action that will be pleasing to God. When one's love of God is strong enough, he becomes a `precious and beloved son,' and God will show him abundant love and compassion and permit him to investigate the hidden store-chambers of the King, until he will learn the deepest secrets of all -- why the righteous suffer and the wicked prosper, and so on. He will be worthy of the secrets of Torah and he will be able to raise up `judgement' out of the deep and restore it (Likutey Moharan 5:15) #rebbenachman #breslov #torah #nanach
