Lil bit of my work from Sem 1. I had 3 papers this Sem - Design, Gen and Professional Studies. *
I did not enjoy Design at all bc I couldn't see the logic of bending over backwards and literally destroying myself just for a design that was never going to get built. I'm not kidding. Sem 1 was a total nightmare and I don't know if I can put myself through that again. Some students are quite resilient but I struggled a lot. The only way I got through it was from the support of a few good people - they know who they are.
Anyways, this is work I did for my Gen paper. It actually made sense in my head to design something which would utilize the latest sustainable technology on the market rather than designing something for the sake of designing something (design).
Pretty much had to redesign my own family home to make as carbon neutral and energy efficient as possible. I live next to the highway so there is naturally more smog in my neighborhood than there would be for other neighbourhoods. By introducing a smog eating facadè using Photocatalytic Titanium Dioxide modules, it enables my house to actually remove C02 from the air. *
There's also a rainwater harvesting unit and a lil natural ventilation strategy incorporated. All materials used were either recycled or had minimal C02 emissions.
